September 17, 2018 – Los Angeles, CA – – The law firm of Baum Hedlund Aristei & Goldman is pleased to announce Clay Robbins III, a highly experienced litigator, and transportation accident attorney, has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office. With a focus on commercial transportation accidents, Clay will represent clients in aviation, boat, bus, train, and trucking accidents as well as other major catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and product liability cases.

Clay is a third-generation California lawyer with decades of experience obtaining justice on behalf of transportation accident victims across the nation. He has attained an A.V. Preeminent 5.0 out of 5.0 Peer Review Rating (highest possible rating for preeminent legal ability and ethics) from Martindale Hubbell, the national directory of attorneys.

Prior to joining Baum Hedlund, Clay was a partner at the prominent law firm of Magaña, Cathcart & McCarthy (MCM) for more than 20 years. Los Angeles-based, MCM has an international reputation for their extensive experience representing thousands of clients in high profile catastrophic injury and wrongful death litigation.

While at MCM, Clay focused mostly on commercial transportation accidents across the U.S. and served as lead trial counsel on many of the firm’s cases involving aviation, trucking, automobile defects, product liability, railroad, maritime law, construction litigation, and medical malpractice.

In addition to being trial counsel in many MCM cases, Clay also handled well in excess of 100 appeals over the course of his career, arguing multiple times before all of the appellate courts of California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and the California Supreme Court.

Some of his notable cases include his successful representation of plaintiffs in an aviation insurance bad faith action which resulted in over $9 million in compensatory and punitive damages on behalf of his clients.

Clay also represented a young woman who suffered life-altering injuries—including brain damage and hemiplegia—after airbags failed to deploy when her car was forced off the road and crashed into a utility pole. The product liability case against the manufacturer of the airbag control module resulted in a multi-million-dollar trial verdict for Clay’s client, which he kept intact before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal.

A transportation lawsuit against a major bus company and manufacturer saw Clay obtain justice on behalf of passengers who received profound injuries in a horrific bus crash. The case concluded with a multi-million-dollar win for the parties he represented.

“We are honored to welcome Clay to the transportation department of Baum Hedlund Aristei & Goldman, and look forward to his collaboration, experience, skill and the work ethic he has demonstrated throughout his long and storied career to achieve the best results for our clients,” says Ronald L. M. Goldman, senior partner of the firm.
