Attorney R. Brent Wisner has won myriad accolades for his commendable work in representing thousands of clients in product liability mass tort litigation and wrongful death cases. To round off 2020, Attorney Wisner earned yet another distinction: The National Trial Lawyers named him President of the Top 25 Products Liability Trial Lawyers Association for 2021.
The title of President of the Top 25 Products Liability Trial Lawyers Association also comes with membership to this select group. The National Trial Lawyers chose Attorney Wisner because he “has proven that he exemplifies superior qualifications, leadership skills, and trial results as a trial lawyer.” For Attorney Wisner, this recognition marks an exceptional year of accolades after he obtained international recognition for his remarkable work on the first three Monsanto (now Bayer) Roundup cancer lawsuits to proceed to trial:
Attorney Wisner Successfully Advocates for Consumer Safety
In 2018 and 2019, Attorney Wisner served as co-lead trial counsel and delivered strong opening statements and closing arguments for two cases against Bayer. The plaintiffs (the Pilliods and Mr. Johnson) alleged their exposure to the herbicide Roundup led to their development of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. In Mr. Hardeman’s case, Mr. Wisner served as a key member of the trial team. All three trials were a huge success for the plaintiffs and the future of consumer safety, with the verdicts collectively amounting to $2.424 billion in awards.
On top of this, Attorney Wisner played a significant role in the settlement negotiations with Bayer, which resulted in the corporation resolving more than 100,000 Roundup cancer lawsuits with settlement agreements worth about $11 billion.
