R. Brent Wisner is Wisner Baum’s managing partner and the firm’s lead trial attorney. Attorney Wisner gained widespread acclaim for his work in the historic Monsanto Roundup litigation, where he served as co-lead trial counsel in two of the first three cases to go before juries. These trials culminated in jury verdicts worth over $2.3 billion and helped pave the way for settlements with Bayer worth roughly $11 billion. Since then, Mr. Wisner has achieved groundbreaking success, most notably in Zantac cancer lawsuits and the Painters Actos RICO class action. He co-leads the consolidated Zantac state court litigation in both California and Delaware, and obtained a confidential settlement for the first Zantac case that was scheduled to proceed to trial in California. In the Actos case, his team obtained class certification, setting a historic precedent in a RICO class action against pharmaceutical companies. Lawdragon 500 has recognized Attorney Wisner since 2019.
Michael Lin Baum is a senior partner at Wisner Baum. He was the firm’s managing partner for 29 years before he handed over the reins to R. Brent Wisner. Under his leadership, the firm achieved billions in verdicts and settlements, including groundbreaking pharmaceutical litigation and the historic Monsanto Roundup cancer verdicts, earning his team international attention and acclaim. Bijan Esfandiari is a pharmaceutical product liability litigation attorney and senior partner at Wisner Baum. He has worked as lead counsel on many of the firm’s cutting-edge major pharmaceutical and medical device cases. His skilled legal advocacy has helped thousands of clients secure full and fair compensation. Attorney Esfandiari’s successes have included many precedent-setting rulings that have helped shape the law for the benefit of those harmed by dangerous drugs and medical devices. He is currently leading the firm’s Gardasil HPV vaccine injury cases and serves as co-lead plaintiffs’ counsel for the Gardasil MDL (multi-district litigation) based in North Carolina. Timothy A. Loranger is a senior partner at Wisner Baum. He concentrates his practice on product liability, aviation, and commercial ground transportation accidents.
